Are there actually ANY decent referees in our league?!?!...
What an arsewiping shitcunt of a ref... Today's game should've been a pretty straighforward match to officiate but he bollocksed it up because he's a fucking useless cunt...

They should've had at least three or four bookings - possibly even a red - yet the arsewipe was reluctant to reach his pocket for anything... Useless cunt...

However, we seem to be saying the same thing every week... Are there actually any decent refs?!?!... Have they always been as fucking useless as they are now?!?!...

I was pleased with our team's reaction today and I felt that we were worth the three points (just about) today against one of the most difficult opponents in our league - but I can't help but feel really fucking irritated by the ref's performance... Yet again...

Blowing-up for half-time when we were on the attack as well... What a fucking useless wanker... Pissed me off more than anything else today the ref...

Thought he let the game flow today. A draw was the correct result

If I wasn't so wankered then I'm sure that I'd have found a reason to complain over something, Polite son...

I agree dicksie Referees are getting worse every year.

But saying that they are much worse in Turkey after his team were not awarded what looked to be a 100% pen in the 90th minute the Chairmen of Trabzonspor after the game locked up the ref and his linesman for four hours he is actually a bit of a mafia and only let them free when The president Recep Tayyip Erdogan phoned him to do so.
He has been banned from entering the stadium for 9 months and ten days, total twat.

The irony today was that M Atkinson, todays assistant referee, is probably the best English referee

Ref was awful but still a fair result at the end of the day.

Yes , it's very surprising.
You'd imagine a group of referees under the guidance of Mike Riley and prior to that , Keith Hackett, would be top notch WHISTLE MEN.

Has the bloke today ever done a Premiership game?

kid sat next to me plays u11 football and he said his refs are better than that bloke. Blew up for nothing fouls, let criminal fouls go x 3, saw fouls were there were none.Honestly- one of the worst ive seen for a good while - and these are PROFESSIONALS?

Re: Are there actually ANY decent referees in our league?!?!...
To be fair, I prefer refs to err on the side of not booking. And their first few fouls were all by different players, so it's not as if he could have booked a player he had previously warned.

And the foul on Payet looked like a definite yellow but borderline red first time I saw it. The more replays I saw the more red it looked but I really don't think the ref can be overly criticised on that one either. All in all, thought he had a decent game.

Re: Are there actually ANY decent referees in our league?!?!...
I played a decent level for 30 years then took up refereeing but I am not allowed to go any higher because I refuse to do things by the book.

I often get in trouble for failing to book players or letting too much go but I like it that way, let the game flow and give the players enough rope to hang themselves.

Re: Are there actually ANY decent referees in our league?!?!...
A yellow early in the game was warranted and could have prevented the clattering of Payet which has left him injured. There's letting the game flow and there's knowing what is happening and it was pretty obvious what Everton were doing.

Re: Are there actually ANY decent referees in our league?!?!...
I referee U11 and U12 here in the US and I am reluctant to blow pushing and shoving....you should be allowed to do that. With that said, you have to lay down a marker otherwise it will turn into the 'Wild West'. Fast forward to today's game and while no Everton player committed two bad tackles the bad tackles added up and the referee took too long to 'lay down the marker'. That's why the scissor on Payet was only a yellow.

The ref will be congratulated for allowing the pushing and shoving but he was naive for thinking professional footballers would not cynically exploit his generosity.

Payet left the field because he couldn't continue, McCarthy stayed on the pitch because the referee didn't do his job.

As much as I'm enjoying watching it on motd, Chelsea's referee today is shocking.

Today's redeeming feature is Chelsea losing again.

Re: Are there actually ANY decent referees in our league?!?!...
They systematically took Payet out of the game. It was the second bad challenge on him, and it was to take him out the game. It worked, and it was 100% a red card, I called it straight away, ref couldn't have been better placed, he got the yellow out in an instant without thinking about it, showed massive inexperience.

Sad thing is, we could lose him for some massive games.

"Payet left the field because he couldn't continue, McCarthy stayed on the pitch because the referee didn't do his job."

Spot on. And it wasn't only Payet. Their left back had already started clattering Moses at every opportunity as the only way to stop him (he - the left back, not Moses - really is pretty poor isn't he) and when he finally got spoken to, Kone came flying across the pitch to do it for him. Very cynical and the ref had no control at all.

How McCarthy on Payet wasn't a booking but Zarate's foul near the end was...well it makes no sense at all.

People always come out with 'refs are only human' bla bla, but the least you should be able to expect is some consistency. From the moment he didn't book McCarthy you knew there was no way we were going to go a while game without a booking, and therefore at some point someone was likely to get booked for something less deserving.

The really stupid thing is this ridiculous rule that as the ref saw it, no further action can be taken. He's going to break someone's leg at some point doing that, and it could perhaps be avoided if he was made to accept the consequences of his actions. Clearly, that ought to happen on the field but when it doesn't because the ref is fucking inept, there should at least be some recourse to remedying the error.

Re: Are there actually ANY decent referees in our league?!?!...
It's entirely possible that Zarate's foul was a yellow, but it didn't endanger life or limb. McCarthy's tackle was cynical and dangerous yet there's a debate about whether or not it was red.

Why?

Re: Are there actually ANY decent referees in our league?!?!...
Ref was shocking and the tackle on Payet was a red no argument. Anybody who says the game should be allowed to flow completely ignores the fact that it was a plan from Everton to hit us hard and push an inexperienced ref, we were lucky there wasn't a leg break today as they were reckless and deliberate.

"Blowing-up for half-time when we were on the attack as well.."

He blew for a foul by Carroll, but then blew for half-time immediately, quite correctly too.

He also blew for full time, thus denying us the opportunity to send the ball forward from a free kick on halfway. Bilic and Noble did their nuts about that.
Bilic and Noble were wrong to do so.

James MCCARTHY went through AMALFITANO last season when we played up there last season. This season he kicked Payet off the pitch. Bloke is a complete cunt.
